Procurement & Pricing Executive (Ocean Freight)

Purpose

Secure competitive, reliable ocean freight rates and capacity from carriers and vendors, and build accurate pricing that lets Sales win and retain customers while protecting margin.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and negotiate ocean freight rates, surcharges, and terms with shipping lines, consolidators, and overseas agents.

• Prepare and maintain rate sheets and quotations for Sales and Business Development, with clear cost breakdowns (freight, THC, local charges, destination charges).

• Track market rate movements, benchmark against competitors, and flag risks or opportunities early.

• Review and manage carrier and vendor contracts, including rate validity, service commitments, and renewals.

• Analyze margins by lanes and customers, and recommend pricing adjustments.

• Collaborate with the sales team to provide competitive pricing solutions for clients.

• Coordinate with Operations on booking, space allocation and Accounting on payment to vendors.

• Bachelor's degree in any fields.• 2+ years of experience in local ocean freight pricing, procurement, or freight forwarding.• Solid knowledge of ocean freight cost structures, incoterms, and shipping line practices.• Strong Excel and analytical skills; comfortable working with rate data.• Good command of English (verbal and written).• Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work under deadline pressure.
