Merchandising Manager (Food or Non-Food)

Dong Mart is a fixed-price retail chain in Vietnam offering over 10,000 everyday products across food and non-food categories. Established in 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City, the company operates in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector and serves local communities with convenient, affordable shopping. Its stores provide a broad mix of essentials, including snacks, packaged foods, cosmetics, personal care, stationery, household goods, toys, seasonal items, and plastic products.

Dong Mart is rapidly expanding its retail network in residential areas to improve access to daily necessities. By 2026, the company aims to operate more than 80 stores nationwide and further strengthen its retail presence across Vietnam.

Role Description

• Develop and execute merchandising strategies for the food or non-food categories.

• Manage product assortment, category planning, and SKU selection (e.g., snacks, beverages, packaged food; or homeware, toys, stationery).

• Source and negotiate with local and international food suppliers.

• Ensure compliance with local food safety regulations and quality standards.

• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences.

• Oversee pricing strategies and promotional planning.

• Analyze sales performance, margins, and inventory turnover.

• Work closely with procurement, operations, and marketing teams.

• Manage stock levels, minimize wastage, and ensure proper inventory control.

• Lead and develop the merchandising team.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Food Science, Marketing, or a related field.

• Minimum 5–8 years of merchandising experience, with strong exposure to food/FMCG or non-food categories.

• Solid understanding of Vietnam’s food / non-food retail market and consumer trends.

• Experience in sourcing and managing suppliers.

• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulatory requirements.

• Strong analytical and commercial mindset.

• Good leadership and communication skills.

• Proficiency in Excel and merchandising systems.

• Fluency in English and Vietnamese.

• Experience in discount retail/dollar store concept

• Exposure to ASEAN markets or multinational retail environments

• Experience managing multi-category merchandise (FMCG, general merchandise, softlines)

• Proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage.
